______Placemake is a living school; an inquiry-based, multi-level school in the West end of Toronto. The school’s aim is to give children the freedom to learn at their own pace, and educators time to attend to each student; it also encourages cooperation. The school enables each individual to prepare to face this complex world while being in touch with their humanity.
______Placemake is an inquiry-based, multi-level mobile school in the West end of Toronto. Currently, we are offering year-round classes with half-day or full-day options, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The school’s aim is to give children the freedom to learn at their own pace, and educators time to attend to each student; it also encourages cooperation. The school enables each individual to prepare to face this extremely complex world while being in touch with their humanity. This year-round programming is an opportunity to come together and observe and absorb the beauty of nature in its fullness, while finding our place in it by listening to our bodies, each other and the natural habitat that are still around us in this fast-growing city.

Sang-Kāghaz-Gheychi (Rock-Paper-Scissors) is a weekly nature-based art class that runs in Farsi (Persian) language for kids ages 6-12 years old, near High Park. Storytelling and music are woven into our day and the aim is to spark kids’ interest in the rich and song-like Farsi language as a tool to communicate and connect with a wide and diverse group of people, as well as learning new ways to understand, express and communicate their needs and emotions to friends and family members.

SPRING CAMP
MARCH 11-15, 2024
AGES 5-12 YRS
Together we will explore the ways of nature in the city and we observe with all our senses and document the signs of spring using various hands-on methods. Expect a fully outdoor camp with field trips, sound making, placemaking activities, urban intervention, map making, clay sculptures, silly walks, story telling, foraging, art making and various nature projects.
